Helanthium quadricostatus is a low growing foreground plant with narrow, bright green leaves that form a soft, grass-like carpet. It has a slightly more upright look than Helanthium tenellum, giving a natural meadow effect rather than a tight, flat carpet.

Plant in small portions across the substrate and allow space for runners to spread. Under moderate to strong lighting it will stay compact and gradually fill in, while added CO₂ will improve speed and density. It’s a relatively forgiving species and adapts well to a wide range of planted aquariums, making it suitable for both newer and more established setups.
