Pogostemon deccanensis is a distinctive stem plant with narrow, finely textured leaves and a soft green to reddish tone under strong lighting. Its upright, slightly arching growth adds lightness and movement, making it well suited to the midground or background of planted aquariums.

Planted in groups, it grows steadily upwards and responds well to regular trimming, which encourages bushier growth and a fuller appearance. Moderate to strong lighting helps bring out its best colour and structure, while added CO₂ improves overall health and density. It prefers stable conditions and is best placed where flow is gentle and consistent.
