Sagittaria subulata is a hardy, grass-like plant with long, narrow leaves that adds height and movement to planted aquariums. It’s commonly used in the midground or background, but can also work as a taller foreground plant in larger tanks.

Planted in the substrate, it spreads by runners and establishes quickly under stable conditions. Moderate lighting is usually sufficient, though stronger light will encourage denser growth and more compact leaves. CO₂ is not essential, making it a reliable option for lower-tech aquariums. Regular thinning helps keep it from spreading too aggressively once established.
