Schismatoglottis prietoi is an unusual rhizome plant with elongated, slightly textured leaves and a deep green tone. Its refined shape and steady growth make it well suited to detailed aquascapes where subtle structure and contrast are preferred over fast growth or bold colour.

It should be attached to wood or rock rather than planted in the substrate, as the rhizome needs to remain exposed. Growth is slow and controlled, making it easy to manage once established. Low to moderate lighting is sufficient, and while CO₂ is not essential, it will support healthier, more consistent growth. Best placed in calm areas of the aquarium with gentle flow, where it can settle and develop over time.
